We are seeking a Refurbishment Program Manager to oversee the refurbishment process of our returned hubs and covers. This role will manage the end-to-end refurbishment operations, including handling both units returned during the 30-day trial period and those returned due to defects. The candidate will work closely with third-party refurbishers to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and report progress regularly.
This role is based out of our North San Jose, CA 3rd party facility and will require five days a week in the office .
How you'll contribute
Oversee and manage the refurbishment program for returned unitsTrack and report weekly metrics, including the number of units received, processed, and ready for shipmentCollaborate with third-party refurbishment providers to ensure quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of operations. For example, identify opportunities to optimize unit processing throughput (UPH) and minimize costs per unitEnsure all returned units undergo appropriate testing, cleaning, and repackaging processes.Manage the repair process for damaged units, ensuring efficient handling and troubleshootingMonitor and analyze refurbishment costs, finding ways to reduce expenses while increasing productivityProvide detailed reports to upper management on program performance, cost control, and improvement strategiesWhat you need to succeed
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related fieldProven experience in program management, preferably in a mechanical or systems-oriented environmentStrong mechanical testing skills with an understanding of system-level testing and debuggingExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to write detailed progress reports and collaborate with third-party vendorsAbility to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively to meet deadlinesExperience in cost optimization and process improvement is highly preferredWhy you'll love Eight
