What You'll Do
Assisting with performing and/or recommending lab testingAssisting with foundation analysis and recommendationsDrafting boring logs and location diagramsScheduling of drill rigs for geotechnical projectsObtaining utility clearance for subsurface explorationsAssisting with determining appropriate subsurface exploration program and preparing drilling instructionsPerforming boring and test pit layouts by both conventional surveying and Global Positioning Systems (GPS)Classifying soil samplesPerforming hand augers to obtain subsurface information and soil samplesObserving foundation or ground improvement installationsWant to experience what this job entails? What We're Looking For
Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related degreeInterest in how structures are supported and a desire to think outside the boxPrevious internship experience would go a long wayMust be able to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites - Mileage will be reimbursedPosition requires carrying 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height
