Role Overview
The Senior Technical Program Manager will serve as the central figure in driving technical program initiatives across all of Athena's tech departments. This role will be instrumental in establishing engineering norms, processes, and tracking key metrics to ensure the success of our engineering operations. The Senior Technical Program Manager will lead cross-functional efforts to enhance our CI/CD pipeline, increase observability, and advance test automation. Additionally, this role will manage Kommit and oversee its range of responsibilities in the near term.
Responsibilities
Establish Engineering Norms : Develop and implement standardized engineering practices and processes to drive consistency and efficiency across all tech teams.Metrics Tracking : Monitor and analyze engineering metrics to gauge progress, identify areas for improvement, and ensure accountability within the tech organization.Incident Management : Oversee incident management and response protocols, ensuring rapid resolution and communication during service disruptions or outages.Lead Horizontal Efforts : Spearhead initiatives related to CI/CD, observability, and test automation, collaborating with relevant teams to enhance these critical areas.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align technical program initiatives with organizational goals.Continuous Improvement : Foster a culture of continuous improvement by advocating for and implementing best practices in technical program management.Qualifications
Experience : 8+ years of experience in technical program or project management, specifically within software engineering environments.Leadership : Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale technical programs successfully.Technical Expertise:
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, CI/CD practices, observability, and test automation strategies.Incident Management:
Experience with incident management, creating response plans, and leading post-incident reviews.Communication : Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.Analytical Skills : Ability to use metrics and analytics to drive decision-making and performance improvement.Adaptability:
Agile and capable of managing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.Education:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
