Reporting to the Manager of Network Services, the Principal Engineer - Network role will be responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the network. This role requires a deep understanding of LAN/WAN environments and will serve as the operational lead for the team. The Principal Engineer will ensure the network's reliability, performance, and security, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives. Your Day To Day Lead the Network Operations team in managing and maintaining the network infrastructure. Ensure the stability and performance of LAN/WAN environments. Develop and implement network policies, procedures, and best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network-related projects. Monitor network performance and implement improvements as needed. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Managing small to medium sized projects Ensure appropriate escalation and response to priority incidents Ensure redundancy and disaster recovery configurations are in place, coaching the team where needed Perform any other related duties prioritized by the Network Services Manager. Who You Are Bachelor's Degree in IT or related fields, or equivalent experience and certifications High level understanding or subject matter expert in SDWAN and routing Experience in network operations, with a strong understanding of LAN/WAN environments. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) are a plus. Preferred Skills: Track record of leading network operations teams. Experience with network monitoring and management tools. Knowledge of network security best practices. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated success in leading large, global network communications teams High level of understanding in the network, telecom and firewall fields 5 years' experience hands on support and troubleshooting of networks Proficient in Cisco routers and switches, Arista switches and Cloud Vision Portal, Nexus switches, Python, SolarWinds network configuration manager (NCM), Aruba Clear Pass Policy Manager, Cisco Prime/DNA, Cisco/Arista Wireless, Cisco SDWAN Why Westinghouse?
