Job Summary:

The EVS Aide II performs advanced cleaning and sanitation duties to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment. They are responsible for cleaning and disinfecting various areas, handling waste, and supporting infection control measures in accordance with established procedures and safety regulations.

Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, and clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.Completes work assignment in a timely manner.Uses and maintains various types of equipment, including floor machines, properly.Strip and refinish floors.Hang window drapes and cubical curtains.Moves furniture (light).Shampoo carpet and furniture.Polish elevator and tracks.Transports heavy trash and hazardous waste from Hospital.Maintains patient confidentiality.Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.Reports safety hazards appropriate.Transports trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.Replenishes supplies.Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.Participates in performance improvement activities.Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties.Workdays, evenings or night shift as assigned.Ability to work on his/her own with normal supervision.Observes safety precautions at all times.Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), one-to-three-month related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk as well as occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch. Normal or corrected vision, hearing and ability to speak are necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, sharp eye focus and ability to distinguish colors. There may be periods of stressful, intense concentration with more than average pressure used in a variety of problem-solving situations.
