Position Title: Network/Firewall Engineer Location: Jacksonville, NC Reports to: Cybersecurity Engineer, Site Lead Position Summary: Explore an opportunity to grow with our amazing team at RPI Group We are seeking a Network/Firewall Engineer to be part of a fun and dynamic environment within a great company. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and administering networked devices in a secure DoD environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network infrastructure, hardware, IPSec, and Palo Alto firewalls, and be able to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network devices including firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers. Primary responsibilities include configuring and maintaining Linux and Windows hosts, as well as managing Palo Alto firewalls for the networking of ICS/OT devices on the MCEN-N at CLNC. Join us and be part of a team where innovation and collaboration thrive Key Responsibilities: Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations. Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems. Replacing faulty network hardware components when required. Designing, configuring and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software. Configuring Raspberry Pi's, Cisco Switches, and other networking equipment to operate in an IPSec Hub-and-Spoke architecture. Configure, document, and maintain routers switches, VLANs, and IPSec tunnels. Configure and maintain certificates in a PKI environment. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years' experience operating and maintaining networks in a DoD environment (USMC and/or CLNC experience is a plus) Active Secret security clearance and ability to successfully pass a background investigation IAM Level II, preferably Security CompTIA Network or CCNA A deep knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly desired. Skills/Experience: Knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, or security administration of Unix or Windows network/systems Experience implementing and documenting DISA STIGs Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware. Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions. Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, switches, controllers. Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols. Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems. Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources. A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment.
