**Job Title: Respiratory Therapist****Location:** [Chicago]**Job Type:** [Full-Time/Part-Time]**Reports To:** [Supervisor]**Job Summary:**We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients of all ages.**Key Responsibilities:**- Perform initial assessments and routine evaluations of patients’ respiratory status including vital signs, lung function, and oxygen saturation levels.- Administer respiratory therapy treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and mechanical ventilation as prescribed by physicians.- Monitor patients’ progress and response to treatment, making adjustments as necessary in collaboration with the healthcare team.- Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-management techniques.- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.- Ensure that all respiratory equipment is maintained, sanitized, and functioning properly; troubleshoot any issues that arise.- Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance the quality of respiratory care within the facility.- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care and improve overall health outcomes.- Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy practices and technologies through ongoing education and professional development.**Qualifications:**- Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field from an accredited program.- Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).- Experience in a clinical setting (hospital, outpatient, or home health) is preferred but not required.- Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.- Proficiency in using respiratory therapy equipment and technology.- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.**Benefits:**- Competitive salary- Retirement plan options- Paid time off and holidays
