Reasonable Expected Salary Range: $97,000 to $ 113,000
In collaboration with the director, provide general oversight of the nursing and clinical operations in Student Health Services (SHS). Supervise the SHS caregiving support staff, i.e., the registered nurse and medical assistants. Ensure quality of care is coordinated and delivered to our patient population in a consistent and competent manner. Act as a resource for SHS team members. Provide leadership and demonstrate professionalism when interacting with both internal and external customers. Follow the tenets of nursing to protect, promote and optimize the health of others. Exhibit goal-directed, patient-centered care while maintaining respect for others' ethnicity, religion, and gender identity. Pursue continuing education in nursing, healthcare and matters of diversity.
Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities
1. Provide direct supervision of the registered nurse and two to four support staff members. Recruit, hire, develop, coordinate and conduct staff trainings. Advise, mentor and evaluate performance of supervised staff and encourage their ongoing development and education. In consultation with the director, counsel and discipline staff when areas of poor performance are identified.
2. Oversee the general day-to-day clinic operations relative to the patient appointment schedule, nursing services, procedures, and staffing.
3. Keep inventory of clinical and laboratory supplies as well as medical equipment and order replacement supplies and equipment as necessary.
4. Keep inventory of medicines and related supplies and order replacements as necessary.
5. Act as liaison and negotiate price contracts with pharmaceutical, lab, and supply vendors to assure cost-effective use of resources, materials and time.
6. In collaboration with the director, oversee the SHS Infection Control, Prevention and Safety policy and act as the clinic infection control specialist.
7. Assist the Director in all administrative areas as requested including active participation in re-accreditation activities for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).
8. Provide nursing care to patients including triaging, monitoring vital signs and conditions, and performing procedures such as EKG's, venipuncture, nebulizer treatments, immunizations, and allergy testing.
9. Assist in providing life-saving emergency care to students, faculty, and staff. Initiate life-saving emergency care in the absence of the physician and/or nurse practitioners.
10. Assist the SHS physicians, nurse practitioners, and other SHS team members in the provision of health services.
11. Actively participate in campus and community health education/promotion events as requested.
12. Annually review and update written nursing procedures.
13. Formulate new policies for added procedures and newly acquired medical equipment.
14. Represent LMU within the college health community and at professional organizations or associations.
15. Serve on internal/external professional committees as assigned.
16. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Requisite Qualifications
Registered Nurse training in an accredited school of nursing, California RN license in good standing and current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) CertificationMinimum 3 years nursing and supervisory experience in progressively responsible positions.Demonstrated knowledge in nursing science and health care administrationExemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.Demonstrated computer competency and preferably knowledgeable of EMR systems, Word and Excel
