Job:Associate Director, Admissions
Job Summary:Under the direction of the Dean of Enrollment Management, the Associate Director will serve as a key member of the Office of Admissions leadership team. They will provide high-level management of major project areas, and will take a leadership role in staff training, supervision, and professional development. The Associate Director will participate fully in all aspects of the admissions recruitment and selection process, including travel to high schools and college fairs, and the evaluation and selection of candidates for incoming first-years and transfers.
Job Description:
The Associate Director(s) will be solely responsible for the oversight of major project areas that can include a combination of the following:Management of front office/visitor center operations, including supervising staff and student employees; provide guidance and supervision to major visit initiatives including campus tour programs.Management and coordination of transfer selection process; development and implementation of evaluation training, including supervision of staff readers; hiring, training and supervision of part-time readers; development of reading schedule; supervision and training of graduate assistant; coordination with operations staff during selection processManagement, and implementation of online data systems, including providing training and supervision to staff and student employeesManagement of multiple communication flows and marketing campaigns for various audiences, primarily prospective first- year and transfer/visiting applicants, including email, social media and website. Collaborate with the Dean on print publications. Provide analytics on communicationsDuties & Responsibilities:
Assist the Dean and Director in the recommendation and formulation of specific policies and procedures in the first-year and transfer selection process.Supervise members of the admissions counseling team and front desk assistants.Represent the Admissions Office in annual travel, including making high school visits, attending national conferences and participating in special recruitment activities.Assist in the reading and selection of first-year and transfer applicants and serve as a chair of the Admissions Committee.Handle telephone and email inquiries about applicants, requirements, status of applications, decisions, etc.Represent the office, in the Dean and Director's absence, at various meetings as instructed by the Dean and Director.Provide input as a senior staff member on staff and departmental issues for the Dean and Director's attention.Carry out other special projects as assigned by the Dean and Director.Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

Understanding of the values of a liberal arts education for women and the ability to articulate them effectivelyStrong organizational, planning, time management skills and attention to detailDemonstrated ability to work independently and make distinctions among competitive applicantsDemonstrated presentation skillsSolid understanding of issues affecting underrepresented and other diverse populations in college admissionsStrong knowledge about recruiting underrepresented populationsDemonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justicePossess cross-cultural sensitivityEffective and persuasive communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to supervise a staff and direct the work flow of other staff members.Strong written and verbal communication skillsHigh personal energy level and stamina.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with othersQualifications:
Bachelor's degree from a liberal arts institution.Five years or more of experience in college or university admissions.Willingness and ability to travel for up to two weeks at a time.Valid driver's license.Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degreeFamiliarity of Technolutions Slate a plusPhysical Requirements:
Ability to lift items weighing as much as 25 lbs.Ability to perform customary office tasks such as sitting, walking, standing, computing and answering telephone for moderate to prolonged periods of time combined with light to moderate reaching, bending and lifting
Salary Range:
$78,000 - $83,000 annually
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
