Clinical Supervisor
for our programs in Alameda County.
About the role:
The Clinical Supervisor (Licensed as a LCSW or LMFT) will provide clinical leadership, support, and oversight to a multidisciplinary team. The team will engage, house, and provide wrap-around clinical services to the chronically homeless, vulnerable individuals who have Serious Mental Health Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, and/or Chronic Health Conditions. This position will be responsible for assessing the mental health needs of referred individuals living in the County, in the office and at housing sites, as well as clinical supervision to ASWs and MFTs who are working towards licensure.

How You Make an Impact:
Clinical oversight and direction to assure consistency and continuity of care in the provision of services Provide clinical supervision, including coaching and education to ASW and MFT Intern staff working towards licensure. This includes both individual and group supervision.Assist in the development of bio-psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and psychiatric interventions.Review clinical notes, assessments, and treatment plans.Coach folks on their clinical writing to ensure it meets Medi-Cal regulations.Attend monthly CQRT meetings and other ACBHCS meetings meant for Clinical Supervisors and Directors (e.g., bi-monthly ACBHCS Clinical Supervisors meeting).Provide clinical support, as needed, to the clinicians and case managers working in the greater agency.Provide clinical supervision, including coaching and education to staff, and in maintaining integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all client records.Develop bio-psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and psychiatric interventions.Provide mental health services to people in the program.Participate in program development, initiation and implementation of programmatic changes and adjustments as determined by client needs, needs of staff, and priorities of relevant funding sources.Facilitate critical incident reviews and staff debriefings.Assist in developing clinical policy and procedures.Other duties as assigned.How You Meet the Qualifications:
Master of Social Work or Psychology degree required.LCSW, LMFT or LPCC licensure required.2 years’ experience post licensure providing clinical supervision to staff.5 years supervisory experience in community mental health or co-occurring program.2 years of field experience working with people with serious mental illness, individuals with co-occurring disorders. complex health issues and/or the chronically homeless population.Use of personal vehicle, proof of a valid and current California Driver’s License and current insurance along with a clean DMV record required.Driving and transportation of participants when required.Basic knowledge and understanding of applicable federal, state, and local laws.Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.COMPETENCIES:
Excellent verbal & written communication, organizational, and time management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.Experience working within an Assertive Community Treatment program or similar. Understanding of the following evidence-based practices: Housing First, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation required.Experienced in effectively intervening and /or supporting staff in crisis situations, with de-escalation techniques.Experience, understanding and ability to implement theories of biological, psychological, and social development This includes, but is not limited to, an understanding of human behavior and psychopathology, human diversity, interpersonal relationships and family dynamics, mental disorders, stress, and chemical dependency.Mastery of Medi-Cal charting, strong skills completing assessments and treatment plans.Experience with Utilization Reviews and overseeing Clinical Quality Reviews.Ability to work well independently and collaboratively with teams.Understand and practice cultural sensitivity through open dialogue and self-exploration with diverse groups, while providing direct services.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, systems, and platforms.Ability to learn and use required mobile devices and business-related applications.Outstanding communication skills and high degree of emotional intelligence, cultural humility, with a proven track record to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Communicating with others to exchange information; seeing to read a variety of materials.Manual dexterity for use of keyboard, tools, controls; repetitive motion that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, while at a desk or working on a computer.Ability to drive and sit in a car for prolonged periods of time.Ability to move between floors, ascending and descending stairs.Light work that may include moving or lifting objects up to 25 pounds.Ability to squat, bend at the waist, crouch, reach overhead and horizontally, and kneel.WORK CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to work in a shared office environment with moderate to high noise level with frequent contact and interruption.Multi-level buildings with stairs and/or ramps.Frequent travel by car throughout the region and surrounding areas.Work in program service environments, which may include entering housing units or participants’ residences, program offices, non-agency offices and meeting areas.
