WHITE MOUNTAINS COMMUNITY COLLEGEMARKETING & PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGERFULL-TIME, $55,347-$65,025 ANNUALLY
SCOPE OF WORK:
Oversees all marketing projects for White Mountains Community College (WMCC), with a mission of providing a positive and consistent brand for the college. This position reports directly to the President of WMCC.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:Develops and implements a comprehensive and strategic marketing and communications plan for the college in collaboration with college leaders.Leads the college's social media strategy and content development through all social medial channels.In cooperation with appropriate departments, creates, designs, and coordinates the production and timeline expectations of college marketing and promotional pieces including, but not limited to social media, digital marketing, brochures, viewbooks, catalogs, flyers, press releases, and print, radio, and television advertisements, consistent with marketing objectives.Works with college departments, media outlets, and other agencies on strategic planning and implementation for both credit and non-credit programs and overall college branding.Oversees production processes, which includes creating advertising schedules, working with vendors to elicit competitive bids, and following up with production timelines.Coordinates, disseminates content and updates for website.Utilizes assessment tools including Google Analytics to evaluate marketing initiatives.Develops marketing materials for college events.Handles internal/external communication from the President's Office.Maintains a graphics, photographic, and video library and/or maintains digital records.Trains college personnel on the use of graphic design and desktop publishing templates as needed.Represents the college at community events.Assists the Admissions Office with enrollment management initiatives.Maintains current knowledge of student and academic programs and services.Participates in meetings of the System-wide Marketing Team and other college and/or system committees/teams as assigned.Manages the marketing budget for WMCC.Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations.Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or technical school, with a major study in marketing, communications, graphic arts, journalism, public relations, or related field.
Experience:
Four years of experience in marketing, advertising, journalism, public relations, communications, electronic graphic design, or related field.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong knowledge of correct grammar, punctuation and spelling is essential. Current MS Office software experience preferred. Familiarity with WordPress website software, MAC environment, CMS, CSS, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite (with strong emphasis on InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), HootSuite, and social media. Ability to graphically design visually attractive material to consistently enhance the college's brand. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS:
Considerable knowledge of communications principles and practices. Considerable knowledge of the techniques of planning, composing, and editing writing diverse informational material. Considerable knowledge of English and composition; creative concept work, the printing industry, and world-wide web production. Knowledge of public relations and marketing techniques and procedures. Knowledge of various media needs and methods. Ability to appear before groups, speak effectively and answer questions from the audience. Ability to supervise a small staff of assistants in public relations work. Ability to seek out pertinent and newsworthy information. Ability to read proofs using standard proofreaders' marks. Ability to write audio and visual copy for both motion and still films and video tape for dissemination and utilization by the public. Ability to use a camera. Ability to design, write and layout newsletters and brochures. Ability to use a graphics page design. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
