The
Employee Relations Specialist (Investigator)
will be an advocate of Deployed Service's culture and values and will be responsible for investigating potential workplace concerns, including violations of company policies, values and/or applicable laws or regulations. The
Employee Relations Specialist (Investigator)
will be accountable for partnering with site business leadership and HR Generalists to develop strategies and associated action plans to achieve business objectives.
Essential Functions:
Support, communicate, reinforce, and uphold the mission, values, and culture of the organizationPartner with management staff to support site, departmental, and corporate goalsConduct fair, detailed, and timely investigations into allegations of violations of the company's policies or laws and policies to ensure fair treatment of all employeesInitiate and complete all investigation steps, including document review, interviews, investigation reports, recommend remedial actions, and reporting out on investigation findings, trends, and related metricsLead and work with third party resources, such as digital forensics, investigation, and document review firmsRun document reviews, including the collection, review, and analysis of relevant documentsConduct employee training on the company's investigation process, including reporting channels and the importance of raising issuesPartner with HR and Training Department points of contact on various types of employment law and/or employee compliance training presentationsSupport HR and Corporate Legal Counsel on other projects, initiatives, discovery requests, and strategic opportunities as may arise from time-to-timeCollect and analyze data to identify trends and make recommendations on mitigation strategiesAdvise and train HR generalists and business partners on investigations best practicesDiscreetly lead investigations and manages sensitive and/or private information and sensitive data requestsEnsure field operations HR functions are conducted in a collaborative mannerOther duties as assignedKnowledge and Skills:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite in addition to HRIS related computer programs and software; experience with ADP Workforce Now or UKG, preferredKnowledge of legal discovery-type software (e.g., Relativity, etc.), or case management or case-tracking softwareKnowledge and application of U.S. employment laws and regulationsAbility to research interpret federal and state employment laws and requirementsAbility to write investigative reports in a clear and concise mannerExpertise in analyzing, organizing, and preserving evidenceDemonstrated ability to identify trends and collaborate with assigned HR Generalists and business partners to resolve matters expediently and thoroughlyAbility to train HR colleagues and field operations personnelAbility to balance multiple sophisticated investigations concurrentlyEmotional intelligence for those involved in the investigation processAbility to confront those involved in the investigation process about difficult information and findingsSelf-motivated and persistent; strong ability and comfort in exercising independent judgment for acquiring results while containing legal riskAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to work nights and weekends. Bachelor's degree in employee relations, human resources, business management, or related field. Master's degree in an investigations-related field, preferredProfessional in Human Resources (PHR or SHRM-CP) certification, preferred5+ years professional experience conducting internal workplace investigations as part of an in-house company organization, governmental agency, compliance entity, or law firmExperience in conducting corporate investigative fieldwork, including complainant, witness, and subject employee interviews, investigative data analysis, and production of investigative documentation for court submissionsExperience with a variety of Human Resources subject areas, such as harassment, discrimination, fraud, misuse of position, etc.Experience with employee relations in skilled trade-based environment(s)Experience in testifying before administrative bodies or in courtsOrganizational experience in government contracting environments, preferredExperience with Collective Bargaining Agreements and Service Contract Act (SCA) highly desirableBilingual (English and Spanish), preferredMust possess a valid state driver's licenseMust be authorized to work in the U.S. and able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment
