Warehouse Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Catania Oils is a leading packager and processor of edible cooking oils, located in Ayer, MA. We are looking for talented individuals interested in a career in manufacturing. We currently have the following job opening:
Warehouse Supervisor -3rd shift 11pm-7:30am
Basic Functions:
The position has overall responsibility for supervising day-to-day operations in the designated warehouse. The Warehouse Supervisor enforces and ensures that all SOPs, GMPs, and necessary warehousing tasks, goals, and functions are followed and completed without compromise.
Management Scope:
The Warehouse Supervisor is devoted to continuous operational improvement. This role develops and directs the activities of warehouse employees. The Supervisor leads by example and demands excellence of themselves and forklift operators, shippers, and temporary workers (as needed), under the direction of the Warehouse Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develops and prepares strategies to supervise daily operations, including:
- Coordinating product movement and placement based on the production schedule.
- Picking or staging orders in advance.
- Transferring items between warehouses.
- Managing stock rotation.
- Minimizing and eliminating production downtime.
- Coordinating drop-trailer pool.
2. Supervises employees to ensure organization, task accountability, and timely completion of daily activities.
3. Assists with hiring/firing, disciplinary action, and performance reviews.
4. Completes projects and reports as directed by the Warehouse Manager, such as process improvement and KPIs. Prepares to discuss reports, trends, and company goals.
5. Supports production, inventory control, and quality control as needed, assisting with scheduling, inventory issues, and general concerns.
6. Works with logistics to manage the drop-trailer program, ensuring the drop-trailer board is updated regularly.
7. Fills in as necessary, including picking/unloading trailers, servicing production lines, checking drivers in/out, and assisting with general warehouse activities.
8. Communicates trailer movements with the yard driver in an organized fashion.
9. Leads annual and semi-annual inventory counts as scheduled.
10. Tracks daily forklift inspections and works with forklift providers to address issues and ensure PMs are performed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehousing or logistics.
- Forklift certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Works is a plus.
- Previous leadership experience managing 3 or more employees is a plus.
- Reliable, dependable, with an exemplary attendance record.
- Willingness to work late, OT, or weekends as necessary to see tasks through to satisfactory completion. Able to coordinate necessary OT staffing.
- Knowledge of OSHA/Safety Requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift or stack cases up to 50 pounds.
- Walking or standing for long periods of time.
