What you'll do

The Narrowband Field Applications Engineer will provide customer, production, and engineering support for both US and foreign government systems, including hubs, remote terminals, and COTS equipment. This support will include a mixture of remote and onsite support.

The day-to-day

Support installation and deployment, as well as testing, documentation & training, operations & maintenance of UHF DAMA and IW NetworksCollaborate with both internal and external customersSupport hardware and software installations and updatesTroubleshoot electrical, IP networking, configuration management, IA, and update technical publications accordinglyProvide onsite customer support both CONUS and OCONUS as neededWhat you'll need

4+ years' experience with SATCOM TDMA theory, RF, Antennas, test methodsProven experience operating spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and multi-metersDemonstrated experience developing technical user documentationValidated experience delivering Technical TrainingVerified experience resolving issues with SATCOM networks and terminals as well as IP/NetworkingAssociates degree in a technical subject area or equivalent experienceUS government position. US Citizenship requiredActive DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain when administratively feasible (interim clearance must be granted prior to start date)Ability to work an on-call rotationAbility to travel 50% both CONUS and OCONUSThis role will be based out of Carlsbad, CA

What will help you on the job

Experience with UHF DAMA and IW SATCOM systems/Network OperationsMark XIIA Identification Friend or Foe experienceExperience with SATCOM Network OperationsSolid understanding of military standards and cryptographic baseband equipment (such as KY-100M, KY-99, KIV-7M)Demonstrated experience operating and troubleshooting SATCOM hubs and system issues, terminals, and IP network equipmentExperience with Customer Service and Ticketing Systems (like SalesForce).Prior Military background

Salary range

$110,500.00 - $162,800.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $137,200.00- $192,000.00/ annually
