Salary: $50k base + Full Benefits!
Monday-Friday, 9am- 5pm et Schedule
Job Summary: As a Staff Accountant within our esteemed law firm, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate financial management and reporting of our firm's operations. Working closely with our finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and financial analysis. Your meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and understanding of accounting principles will contribute to the overall success and efficiency of our financial operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Record Maintenance:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable transactions, and payroll records.
Reconciliation:
Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis to provide insights into the financial health of the organization.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, working closely with management to develop realistic projections and monitor performance against budgeted targets.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process accounts payable invoices, ensure timely payments to vendors, and monitor accounts receivable for timely collection of outstanding invoices.
Tax Compliance:
Assist in the preparation of tax returns, including income tax filings and sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is typically required. Some positions may prefer candidates with a master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA).
Accounting Skills:
Solid understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Proficiency in financial accounting, including knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Software Proficiency:
Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
