Job Description
The Assistant Director of Admissions plays a crucial role in driving the strategic enrollment objectives for the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Sports Administration (MSSA), and other assigned programs. This role involves developing and executing innovative recruitment strategies, fostering relationships with prospective students, and contributing to the overall success of the graduate programs.
Major Responsibilities:Recruitment Strategies: Create and implement a dynamic recruitment plan for Valpo's Graduate Programs in Business and other assigned areas. Target specific businesses and universities using diverse strategies to enhance market awareness, increase applications, and boost enrollment.Event Management: Design, organize, and continuously refine recruitment events that effectively engage prospective students. Ensure these events align with the programs' goals and provide valuable experiences for attendees.Travel and Outreach: Represent the graduate programs at businesses and graduate fairs. Travel as needed to build relationships and recruit potential students.CRM and Communication: Collaborate with the Valparaiso University Communications team to execute events and manage communication strategies using the University's CRM system, Slate. Follow best practices to ensure effective engagement and outreach.Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert for the MBA/MSSA programs and other assigned areas. Stay informed about industry trends and academic developments through research and collaboration with academic partners to enhance conversations with prospects.Student Guidance: Provide comprehensive information to prospective students about how the graduate programs align with their educational and career objectives. Offer detailed explanations on program options and the financial aid process. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective students using a range of communication methods, including in-person meetings, virtual sessions, phone calls, emails, and texts. Employ relationship selling strategies to encourage applications and foster student enrollment.Application Management: Accurately record and manage all prospective student interactions in the University's CRM system. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure timely processing of applications and materials. Review incomplete applications and motivate prospective students to complete the process.Admissions Decisions: If applicable, review applications and make admission decisions within 48 business hours of file completion.Team Collaboration: Contribute to the training and development of new team members, sharing insights and best practices to support the team's overall success.International Recruitment: Work with relevant counterparts at Valpo to align our global graduate recruitment efforts.Additional Duties: Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelors Degree RequiredProven experience in sales, customer service, recruitment, admissions, or related roles.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Understanding of CRM systems, preferably Slate.Ability to travel and represent the university at various events.Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds.
