Fund Accounting Manager
CAHEC is a community investment organization that strengthens communities by providing affordable housing and supportive service initiatives to residents in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The Fund Accounting Manager is responsible for managing, modeling, reporting, and providing management accounting for all types of a limited partnership's tax credit investments and related entities. The position ensures data integrity, analyzes and updates data in projections, performs cash management, sets up accounting system for new entities, and prepares, approves, and delivers reports. The employment classification or this position is exempt.
Some specific functions include:Manage accounting and investor reporting for partnership entities from inception to dissolution.Responsible for maintenance of accounting system for partnership entities.Manage the investment model for each partnership entity and update based on accounting transactions, tax documentation and updated projections.Program investment model to address changes in tax laws and investor requests.Manage the cash needs of partnership entities to ensure available funds to disburse according to timelines.Prepare investor reports including financial statements and deliver within prescribed timelines.
Education Requirement
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; or an equivalent combination of education and comparable work experience.
Work Experience
Minimum three (3) years progressively responsible work experience in the areas of financial accounting, modeling, and forecasting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
This position requires intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel with experience in developing solutions related to forecasting, and data analysis. This position requires ability to apply GAAP accounting standards, to develop plan to address cash/financing needs, and to follow department procedures. This position requires ability to process data accurately and to review results to maintain a high level of data integrity and quality of information. This position requires ability to complete responsibilities as part of a team with excellent interpersonal and communication skills which addresses the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. Experience with a batch accounting system and on-line banking platform is preferred.
Work Environment
This position is based out of CAHEC's corporate office in Raleigh, NC. Travel, typically by either commercial airline or automobile, is occasionally required for at least 10% of this position. Certain objectives require working on-site at various locations, such as to potential investments and properties in CAHEC's investment portfolio, and some professional training opportunities may also require travel. CAHEC 's current hybrid work benefit offers eligible positions the opportunity to work a minimum of four days per month working in our Raleigh office. This current benefit is evolving for more collaboration and will be changing in 2025 to a minimum of three days per week working in the Raleigh office.
