POSITION SUMMARY

The operator assembles water source heat pumps using power tools, hand tools, brazing torches and/or automated equipment or machinery. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Production Supervisor or Team Leader.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSOperates hand tools (electrical, pneumatic, manual, or other) to install fasteners, terminals or other small components in the assembly processRead parts specification from manufacturing decoder paperwork with corresponding unitBuild units to specification by installing correct parts in the manner specified by work instructions and standard workLifts and positions components and sub-assemblies for assemblyOperates bridge crane and/or jib crane to lift and position parts and materials for assemblyEnsure the quality of the parts and /or materials being delivered to the assembly lineUtilizes brazing equipment and supplies to join copper components to assemble productsReviews Drawings, Bills of Material, Work Instructions, Decoder information and other product documentation to ensure assembly work is completed per the specificationPerforms assembly work in a paced environment to ensure production TAKT times are consistently obtained, while maintaining safety and quality work practicesExhibits the ability to learn multiple processes within assigned work group and per the defined planCommunicates frequently with your team and others, in concise and polite terms, regarding daily operations and process improvementsMove to and work at different assembly lines or work stations, as requiredPromotes quality by demonstrating personal accuracy and thoroughness, while monitoring workExhibits dependable attendance, consistent with defined schedule and guidelinesExhibits hand dexterity and visual acuity, to assemble small componentsReports all non-conforming components or products to Supervisor promptlyVisually monitors work station carts, equipment and devices for defects or failures and notifies Team Lead or Supervisor for corrective action and repairEnsures the quality of the components and /or materials being installed in work station, meet the defined quality requirements.Notifies assembly Team Lead or Supervisor, when required components need to be re-stocked in areaConsistently maintains a clean and well organized work areaReports any unsafe conditions or actions, and promotes safe working conditions and environmentFollows safety guidelines and policies to ensure safe working practices at all timesSKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

High School Diploma or GED preferred; or 6 months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:

1-3 years of assembly experience is preferred.Computer Skills:

Basic computer skills preferred.Certificates & Licenses:

Must be able to read and communicate in English. Knowledge of operational excellence principles, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S is preferred.
