Alumni Coordinator

SUMMARY

The Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing programming and engagement opportunities for alumni to increase loyalty and life-long engagement with the University, with an emphasis on enhancing the University's reputation and resulting in increased financial support. This position will develop and implement strategies and content for communications with alumni and donors. This position reports to the Director of Alumni Relations/Development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement strategies to increase alumni engagement.

• Assists with management of alumni database.

• Works with academic departments, athletics, career management services, and other departments on developing alumni engagement opportunities, both on and off campus.

• Directs and/or assists in planning and implementation of SE Alumni events (on and off campus), including Homecoming, Tailgate, Gold & Blue Gala, and others.

• Develops and executes a communication plan with all alumni using email, print and social media.

• Manage and create content for the Alumni website.

• Provides support to the Alumni Association as well as the Alumni Association chapters as needed, and responsible for attending Board meetings.

• Shares responsibility for the management and tracking of alumni and event registrations using the Raiser's Edge database.

• Travel across Oklahoma and north Texas to connect with alumni via face-to-face visits, phone, and email.

• Maintains frequent interaction with University Communications and/or Marketing to ensure that all Alumni events are properly promoted.

• Assists in developing strategies to improve and expand the Alumni database.

• Performs other related duties as required or assigned by the Director.

Employee works safely, attends safety training offered/required, and follows appropriate safety rules and regulations. In relation to level of NIMs training completed, participates in incident management preparation, and performs incident duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor's degree required along with 1 to 3 years of experience in business, marketing, communications, or related field. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and presentation. Demonstrated ability to interact positively and appropriately with a wide range of individuals, including alumni, major donors, university employees, and other external constituents. The Coordinator must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred:

Master's degree in a related field, with 3 to 5 years of experience. Previous experience in higher education.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The preferred start date is December 2, 2024. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until filled.
