Heidelberg Materials North America, operates more than 450 locations with approximately 9,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada.What youll get to doWork with a strong team focused on safety, compliance, leadership, teambuilding and operational development to ensure plant sustainabilityLead cement plant production operations including kiln, mill, shipping, quarry and alternative fuels operationsIdentify and provide development opportunities and motivate staff resulting in a reliable and competent workforceIdentify operational opportunities, provide technical assistance, and follow-upDefine annual and multi-year CAPEX plans for new projectsEnsure cooperation with maintenance and operational departmentsAssist in managing a monthly budgets and communicate results to the production teamOptimize inventory and usage of raw materialsManage operational fixed and variable costsDevelop and sustain the continuous improvement process for plant Key Production IndicatorsEnsure compliance requirements are met through leadership, as well as organizational and procedural measures including implementation of guidelines, conducting training, and monitoring complianceProactively managing the health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance
Essential Experience and SkillsStrong leadership skillsStrong team approach to managementBachelors degree in engineering or related technical field preferred5 years prior experience managing staff; demonstrated experience to lead, manage and motivate othersMinimum of 5 years of cement plant experienceDemonstrated experience in project management, problem-solving and creativity, strategic thinking, and decision makingStrong communication skills to ensure coordination of work and completion of tasksExperience working with large rotating heavy industry machinery and equipmentFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products including MS Excel, Word, Access, and ProjectWorking knowledge of SAP preferredUnderstanding of contractual matters (negotiation and legal aspects)
Work EnvironmentThis role is a vital part of solid management team with a high focus on leadership and team developmentRole operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions
