Role Summary:

Be part of the front-end innovation team to actively monitor the market and technology trends, scout emerging technologies, explore technology partnership and work closely with key functions within Flowserve (e.g., strategic business management, product development, engineering and manufacturing, sales/marketing) to shape the development of value-creating innovations funnel.

Responsibilities:

Conduct research and analysis to identify emerging technologies, innovation opportunities, trends, relevant to our industry and business needs. Collect feedback from cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technology strategy, roadmap, and scouting initiatives.

Work closely with strategic business management teams to collect, organize and make sense of the market and technology trends as well as voice of customers, that leads to identification of new products, solutions, or services.

Synthesize and clarify competitive opportunities to establish the most effective starting point for innovation.

Assess various options of new product/solution concepts through design thinking and rapid proof of concept / proof of values projects.

Support the proposal development on potential investment in technology development, partnership, acquisition/licensing.

Participate in regular reviews with business and technology leaders across the organization and share the latest update on the innovation funnel.

Build and maintain a robust network of industry contacts, technology suppliers, startups, and research institutions, and actively explore potential technology partnerships and collaboration opportunities.

Work closely with technology specialists within Flowserve technical centers of excellence to pursue proof of concept development and proof of values demonstration.

Requirements:

University degree in Engineering, Science, or related field, with more than 10 years experience in technology and innovation, with strong interest in exploring advanced technology for potential commercialization.

Experience in developing and commercializing new products or solutions enabled by differentiating technologies and go-to-market strategy.

Experience in technology scouting in industrial engineering and/or energy space and in identifying and developing technology partnerships.

Experience in research and innovation activities, with design thinking experience considered as an asset.

Ability to apply a methodical approach to complex information and synthesize opportunities that leads to potential new product/solution concepts.

Ability to maintain and expand effective networks for potential technology partnership and collaboration opportunities.Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with attention to detail.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to collaborate with multiple functions across businesses.

Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.
