HOW YOU WILL DO IT

Purpose Statement:

Primarily responsible for providing strategic technical leadership and execution of strategic initiatives, across Test, Industrial, Process, Automation and Product Engineering disciplines, to ensure that Plexus is positioned to service new and existing customers' advanced process and technology needs. This role has multi-site accountability within Plexus' AMER region to meeting stakeholder's engineering needs. The role is responsible for managing the implementation and execution of engineering philosophies across the manufacturing operations while working directly with the Engineering Managers and Directors at the assigned sites to ensure proper resources and skill levels are in place to support the voice of the customer and the process. The role will focus on ensuring there is cross functional alignment to provide engineering leadership and support to resolve customer issues. This role is accountable to define the strategic technology roadmaps and technologies and development, deployment and support plans.

Key Job Accountabilities:Champion of standard work for manufacturing operations. Lead best practices sharing and adoption within engineering operations. Lead process capability matrix relative to site technology roadmap.Ensure the processes, organizational capability and culture combine to consistently meet commitments to customers. Build collaborative relationships with internal and external customers. Lead the selection and development of standard work for specified processes and technologies.Create and monitor objectives, goals, strategies and measures for the engineering teams. Establish efficient processes and systems to track and report status of initiatives to include resources, projects, savings, etc. Lead development and adoption of process performance monitors to achieve takt time.Serve as primary escalation point for engineering activities to ensure that appropriate site, regional and corporate resources are appropriately leveraged. Manage issues to achieve root cause identification and regional deployment of systemic corrective actions.Build strong engineers, technicians, and leaders through developing resources for further training, building a candidate pipeline and ongoing coaching. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required; a degree in Engineering is preferred.Ten (10) years of related experience is required; Seven (7) or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred.General Knowledge of ISO 9000, AS9100, TL9000, ISO 13485, FDA GMP Quality System Requirements, through training or hands on experience is necessary for success in this roleBlack Belt certification is preferredAn equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.Travel Requirements:

Typically about 25%. That may increase depending on project demands
