We are committed to investing in our employees and helping you continue your career at Scotiabank.PurposeWhile you will be situated in Colombia, you will contribute to the effective design and execution of Global Banking and Market’s (GBM) First Line Testing program globally; ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are carried out in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. In addition, this role also supports high priority initiatives such as Risk Assessment, Issue Management, and regulatory response for the overall program.Accountabilities

Lead and/or support a variety of periodic (and/or ad-hoc) testing and quality assurance reviews.Perform risk-based testing to assess the operating and/or design effectiveness of key GBM controls and processes in accordance with GBM First Line Testing Procedures. The reviews will require good knowledge of GBM processes, products, and risks.Testing will cover a broad variety of GBM-related procedures and risks, including regulatory onboarding procedures that impact GBM business trading activity (Dodd-Frank, EMIR, Canadian Trade Reporting), and will require good knowledge of GBM processes, products, and risks.Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.Perform analysis to identify and address patterns, themes, or trends that indicate potential weaknesses or gaps in the execution of GBM First Line Controls.Provide effective and constructive feedback to the First Line of Defence within GBM on identified deficiencies, supporting the development of appropriate corrective and preventive actions plans as required.Draft periodic reporting of findings and progress against remediation objectives to management and other key stakeholders.Support continuous development on GBM First Line Testing Methodologies.Support in the development of training, where appropriate, based on testing results and progress of corrective actions.Developing and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders (e.g., global derivatives compliance teams, GBM Internal Controls stakeholders).Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.Participating in ongoing initiatives and projects, as required.Position:

RequiredBachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, law, or equivalent work experienceMinimum of 4 years of experience in financial services and/or consulting.Working knowledge of testing methodologies and risk and control analysis.Change agent with high energy, demonstrated strong ability to work under pressure, deal with ambiguities and uncertainties, and drive for results.Fast learner, strong analytical skills, and critical thinking capabilities to frame and structure complex issues effectively and develop insights and recommendation.Strong communications, organizational, project management, and planning skills.Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Excellent command of English (reading, writing and speaking skills).PreferredCertified Public Accountant designation - Junta Central de Contadores.Experience in audit, compliance, trade surveillance, operational risk, quality assurance and/or project management.Knowledge of capital markets and wholesale banking products, OTC Derivative trading activities, and related regulatory requirements (e.g., Dodd-Frank, EMIR, Canadian Trade Reporting).Data and financial analysis with ability to manage large datasets – analytics skill, programming skills and/or knowledge of Power BI.Working Conditions
