The position is part of the American Express National Bank Treasury team within the Global Treasury organization. The Resolution Planning function is closely integrated with multiple lines of business, key control functions, and risk management to maintain and create strategies and capabilities that support resolution preparedness . The Director will lead AENB and AXP’s resolution planning efforts as a core member of the treasury team, building a long-term sustainable framework for key capabilities and driving the successful delivery of our plans. This is a great opportunity to gain holistic knowledge of the American Express business while contributing to an important regulatory requirement.

Responsibilities

Assess regulatory requirements and industry practices in order to design and build a sustainable long-term resolution planning framework that meets business needs and evolving regulatory expectations.

Serve as a core member of the resolution plan team and lead engagement with key stakeholders across the Company (finance, legal, risk management, operations etc.)

Drive capability enhancements, leverage technology and automation to enhance and support well-controlled processes.

Synthesize, review and develop the resolution plan by collecting data and inputs from across the enterprise.

Develop and prepare senior management presentations to obtain approval from key governance committees.

Lead and motivate project team members to accomplish goals while fostering learning and development

Lead and support regulatory interactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

7 years of treasury, finance, operational resilience, regulatory or resolution planning experience.

Must be comfortable operating with some degree of ambiguity and defining approaches to handle “white space” inherent in an evolving regulatory environment.

Excellent communication, collaboration, influencing and writing skills.

Proven ability to drive results, uplift processes and influence outside of direct reporting line.

Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to connect the dots across different business areas.

Proactive, highly organized with strong attention to detail while driving results within critical deadlines.

Proven track record working in a bank treasury environment with a regulatory focus.

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA preferred

Knowledge of banking regulations and resolution planning would be highly beneficial.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
