Director Patient Support Services Strategy Operations
The Director Patient Support Services Strategy Operations position is accountable for the development, execution, operations, and monitoring of patient support programs designed to provide access to Bayer products and support patients through treatment initiation and adherence across the Bayer portfolio. These reimbursement and copay assistance programs are designed to build reimbursement confidence, secure provider reimbursement, and ensure patient access to Bayer products regardless of patients ability to pay. Works with Executive Director, Patient Services to create strategic and execution plans that support operational excellence.
This position can be site based in Whippany, NJ or Residence Based, for the right Candidate.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Director Patient Support Services Strategy Operations, are to:
Collaborate with the Patient Support team and Market Access Strategy teams to develop and implement reimbursement and access strategies to remove access and affordability hurdles for patients on Bayer retail products;
Collaborate with brand management and functional leaders to interpret branded strategic plans that drive program recommendations of design, vendor selection, and implement reimbursement and affordability programs to ensure patient access to Bayer retail products;
Consult with brand teams to change, modify or discontinue programs based on changing market dynamics among payers, distributors, patients and physicians, product life cycle or legal and government policies;
Collaborate with Data Analytics team to develop and disseminate regular reports from hub partners and copay providers to the business units demonstrating insight into program function and evaluate for improvements;
Collaborate with Data Management team to ensure data is received as contracted and incorporated into Bayer’s data aggregator and systems;
Act as subject matter expert and partner with Learning and Development team to create and deliver patient access services training for Bayer field and home office teams;
Review, model, and communicate the effect of legislative and regulatory mandates and proposals on reimbursement and patient affordability;
Conduct annual review of essential program services and continuously evaluate opportunities to change, modify or discontinue programs.

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications
:
Bachelor’s degree;
Experience in US Healthcare developing retail reimbursement services strategy, copay/financial assistance program strategies and execution, inventory management, and developing patient support services among multiple disease states;
Comprehensive understanding of each customer’s business model to effectively reduce or remove any barriers and to positively impact product uptake;
Experience in developing access and financial support programs in a retail environment;
Project management skills with the ability to work in a matrix environment;
Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and trust;
Strong and oral/written presentation skills, including experience in developing recommendation decks to Senior leadership;
Ability to simultaneously represent interests of multiple products across portfolio;
Experience in emerging threats and technologies, such as copay accumulators and eBenefit Verifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of relevant industry experience;
Understanding of compliance regulations and guidance governing patient support reimbursement and access services;
Excellent understanding of market access needs across key segments;
Experience in providing education to the Sales Force on patient access services;
Experience in hub planning, vendor selection, program development and implementation, and operations monitoring;
Extensive knowledge of planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating copay assistance programs;
Knowledge of pharmacy programs, free trial programs, eVouchers and inventory management;
Strong understanding of CMS, Medicare Parts A, B, and D, commercial payers, and legislative/policy issues and how they affect reimbursement of Bayer s and competitors products.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $159,336.00 to $239,004.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
