As a sr sourcing specialist, you will…

Shaping the Business:

Project Management:

Assist and support sourcing managers with timely and accurate execution of sourcing activities, including proactively communicating project information and engaging with suppliers and cross-functional teams. Effectively and independently manage multiple projects and deadlines through the lens of partnership. Acts as a sourcing consultant to cross-functional team for projects. Responsible for administrative processes and activity reporting associated with projects.

Sourcing Process:

Applies, embeds, and improves processes related to sourcing to maximize the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of the function. Executes day-to-day sourcing administrative tasks to maintain quality data and information.

Strategy:

Supports the development of sourcing strategy by identifying and applying knowledge of key industry players, competitors, and market/industry dynamics to develop market analysis.

Drive Value:

Value Analysis:

Develop visualization spend reports to help identify trends in spend and negotiation opportunities. Lead benchmarking and cost modeling to identify cost savings / margin enhancement. Collaborate effectively with suppliers and potential suppliers to gather data, develop analytical insights to inform sourcing recommendations.

Supply Base Management:

Assist in developing supplier assessments, score cards, and other analytics & metrics to enable the team to effectively manage supplier performance.

Drive Optimization:

Identify and implement ways to increase business efficiencies and operational process.

Protect Supply and Reduce Risk:

Risk Management:

Assists in identifying, assessing, and mitigating supplier and supply chain risks. Gathers and maintains supplier risk information in terms of financial risk, commodity risk, ethical sourcing, market insights, and others

Basic Qualifications:

Education (minimum education level, degree or certification necessary): Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or other related field preferred

Years of experience in specific field or utilizing designated skills (minimum needed to be qualified): 0-2+ years procurement, analytics, finance, planning, engineering, supply chain or other relevant experience preferred.

Skills (minimum skills required):

Sourcing Foundations:

Working knowledge of procurement processes such as RFxs, market analysis, ‘should-cost’ models, and standard legal protections (i.e. confidentiality agreements).

through problems constructively and takes action or is cognizant to elevate for assistance when needed. Strong acumen for coping with different business situations in a professional manner.

Teamwork:

Effectively influences across peer groups on projects and demonstrates leadership.

Project Management:

Ability to prepare clear and concise verbal, written, and visual presentations and ability to clearly communicate written and verbally to peer cross-functional stakeholders to ensure projects or key objectives remain on-track. Proactive communication to cross-functional team.

Emotional Intelligence & Influence:

Ability to adapt in an ambiguous environment and be resilient to change. Demonstrate effective influencing skills via supporting initiatives, acknowledge opposing points of view, focus on effectiveness, demonstrate willingness to learn, etc.

Intellectual Curiosity:

Seeks to build upon the knowledge required for the position by leveraging external resources, leveraging knowledge of sourcing SMEs.

Other:

Intermediate to Master in MS Office Suite, (including Excel pivot tables, managing complex formulas + data); also knowledgeable in BI Apps, Oracle ERS, SAP Ariba, Power BI, Tableau, or other like systems

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
