Role and Scope of Position:Under some guidance, provide support in the implementation of the Pipeline Safety Management and Quality Assurance Program within the Gas Business Unit. This position works with project team members, subject matter experts, and other Eversource departments to monitor and implement plans to ensure successful Pipeline Safety Management & Quality Assurance Programs.Essential Functions:Works with Company subject matter experts, e.g., Quality Control, Safety, Construction, Training, Engineering and/or others as needed, to continually identify process improvements to assist the Gas Business in moving toward a zero-incident culture.Maintains knowledge of industry best practices, trends, industry-related regulatory and legislative changes impacting Compliance and Risk Management and recommends changes within the organization.May participate in meetings focused on Pipeline Safety Management and Quality Assurance, both internally and externally, such as for the Northeast Gas Association and the American Gas Association specific to pipeline safety management systems.Pipeline Safety Management ProgramSupports management in the development and implementation of the Pipeline Safety Management System (API RP 1173) through the Gas Business and related cross-company functions.Compiles gap analysis for PSMS (Pipeline Safety Management System) and compares performance for each program.Organizes and monitors scorecards based on gap analysis comparisons and provides follow-up with appropriate personnel regarding trends.Documents trends and may participate in developing recommendations regarding opportunities for improvements within each program.At the request of management, performs risk assessments to identify short term, long term and “not at this time” improvement opportunities.Supports management with communication and efforts to operationalize PSMS at all functional levels of the Gas Business.Provides continuous improvement evaluations of the PSMS through use of Plan, Do, Check, Act methodology.Quality AssuranceParticipates in providing annual risk-based assurance programs (audits, inspections, analysis) aimed at ensuring key compliance programs and risk mitigation efforts are performing adequately in gas business.Serves as liaison with Quality Control team.Tracks mitigation or corrective plans and actions.Performs analysis and tracking to identify trends and issues.Interacts regularly with Quality Control and Gas Process Safety team to identify trends.Supports management with the plan of action to perform internal O&M Audits and quality assurance reviewsTracks action item recommendations resulting from assessments through to completion.Schedules gap analysis, audits, third party reviews and other means/ methods of QA related to programs/activities impacting pipeline safety.Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:Technical Knowledge/Skill:Ability to perform detail-based analysis; good problem-solving skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate and interact effectively with employees, contractors, customers, municipal officials, business organizations, environmental groups, and community-based organizationsUnderstanding of Federal and state (CT and MA) compliance requirementsAbility to gain trust quickly and to maintain confidentiality and credibility with clients and partners at all levels within the organizationMust be capable of analyzing technical data/recordsDemonstrated strong analytical and critical thinking skillsFamiliarity with industry codes and standards or a technical background is helpfulEducation:A Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Engineering, Business Management or Administration, Accounting/Finance, related degree or equivalent experienceExperience
:Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years utility or related experience. Pipeline Safety Management Systems, Quality Assurance Project Management and/or Compliance and Risk Management experience preferredCompensation and BenefitsEversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts is $85010.00 to $94450.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.Working Conditions:Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires sitting, standing, walking and climbing stairs.It also includes field visits which may include construction sites, rough terrain and production facilities.Job requires traveling to other operating districts and companies within and outside of the state.Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.Mental Aspects
