Demonstrates ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on patients and reassessments as per policy.Demonstrates ability to assess and reassess pain using appropriate evaluation methods. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques and educates patient/ family on pain management.Demonstrates ability to develop and revise plan of care as indicated by the patient response to treatment and evaluate plan daily for effectiveness.Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over life span and skills necessary to provide age appropriate care.Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition.Follows the five medication rights to reduce the potential for medication errors.Formulates and activates teaching plans based on identified learning needs. Evaluates effectiveness of learning including family in teaching as appropriate. Demonstrates ability to perform services requiring technical and manual skills.Demonstrates ability to perform services within the scope of licensure and seeks guidance and direction on issues beyond scope of knowledge and responsibility.Treats patients and families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psycho-social, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual patient/ family needs. Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers. Interacts professionally with patient/family.
