Job Description:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Distribution Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering, with expertise in overhead and underground distribution systems. This role requires hands-on experience with Pole Foreman and O-Calc software to perform pole loading analysis and ensure the structural integrity of distribution systems.Key Responsibilities:Design and analyze overhead and underground electrical distribution systems, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.Perform pole loading analysis using Pole Foreman and O-Calc to determine the structural adequacy of poles in various configurations.Lead the design, upgrade, and maintenance of distribution lines (4kV to 34.5kV) in both rural and urban settings.Conduct field inspections, surveys, and assessments to support engineering projects.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design teams.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including construction, project management, and field operations to execute projects on time and within budget.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including NESC standards and utility-specific guidelines.Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, and documentation as required.Manage and coordinate projects, overseeing all phases from conception to completion.Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in distribution engineering.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical distribution engineering.Proficient in Pole Foreman and O-Calc for pole loading analysis.Strong knowledge of NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) standards.Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required.Preferred Skills:Experience with GIS tools and other engineering design software.Familiarity with renewable energy integration into distribution systems.Understanding of construction practices and materials used in distribution systems.
