About the job Production Manager Overview:Location: Morganfield, KY (Evansville, IN Metro)We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee our rubber-to-metal manufacturing operations, with a focus on improving production efficiency, quality, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will bring specialized expertise in rubber-to-metal bonding processes, a strong commitment to lean manufacturing, and a proactive approach to enhancing production outcomes. This role is integral to achieving operational excellence and supporting the Plant Manager in driving turnaround initiatives within the plant.Key Responsibilities:Oversee all aspects of rubber-to-metal production, including planning, scheduling, workflow management, quality control, and team supervision.Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to optimize bonding processes, reduce defects, and improve overall product durability.Drive lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance throughput in rubber-to-metal operations.Monitor daily production metrics, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions to achieve production targets and quality standards.Lead continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on productivity, cost-efficiency, and safety within the production environment.Work closely with maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and uptime, reducing downtime in critical production areas.Mentor, train, and develop production staff, promoting a culture of accountability, skill development, and safety.Manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal supply of raw materials while minimizing excess stock.Assist in planning and executing capital projects, including equipment upgrades, process improvements, and facility enhancements.Enforce compliance with safety and environmental regulations, particularly those related to rubber-to-metal bonding processes.Maintain and uphold production documentation, including work instructions, safety protocols, and quality standards.Required Skills and Experience:Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production management role, with a focus on rubber-to-metal or similar bonding manufacturing.In-depth knowledge of rubber-to-metal bonding processes, including adhesive selection, curing, and surface preparation.Strong background in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.Proven experience in troubleshooting production issues and implementing process improvements specific to rubber-to-metal production.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop production teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety.Familiarity with equipment and maintenance needs associated with rubber-to-metal bonding processes, including curing ovens, presses, and adhesive application systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.Proficiency in production management software (ERP/MRP systems) and basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Solid understanding of regulatory compliance standards, including ISO 9001 and OSHA safety requirements.Preferred Skills and Experience:Masters degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.Experience in rubber product manufacturing for the automotive or heavy equipment industries.Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and other automotive quality standards.Familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques, such as automation, predictive maintenance, and data analytics for process optimization.Key Competencies:Process-Oriented: Deep understanding of rubber-to-metal production processes, including bonding and curing.Efficiency-Focused: Strong commitment to lean manufacturing principles and waste reduction.Analytical Insight: Ability to use production data and metrics to drive continuous improvements.Leadership: Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performance production teams.Quality-Driven: Focus on meeting high standards of quality and product durability.Compliance and Safety: Thorough knowledge of safety standards and regulatory compliance in rubber manufacturing.Why Join Us:This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Production Manager to make a significant impact in a critical production area.
