As part of this role...Role Overview:The Controls Manager will lead and manage a team of field engineers and project managers in executing electrical control projects. The role focuses on managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring successful delivery within scope and budget while maintaining customer satisfaction. The Controls Manager will be hands-on, collaborating with key stakeholders to develop cost-effective solutions for SCADA, BMS, and PLC system designs.Key Responsibilities:Lead the coordination of the Controls Field Service team and third-party vendors for seamless project execution.Ensure on-time project delivery within scope and budget, while maintaining high-quality service and customer satisfaction.Develop project scopes, schedules, and technical feasibility with key stakeholders.Oversee procurement of materials, and review costs to ensure financial efficiency.Assist in hiring subcontractors and ensuring their work aligns with project requirements and safety standards.Prepare and deliver necessary project documentation such as technical drawings, scopes of work, and project-specific contacts.Track project progress, resources, and identify opportunities for change orders to improve scope and efficiency.Manage project billing, scheduling commissioning resources, and ensure timely completion of close-out documentation.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement controls and automation systems, including BMS and SCADA systems.Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including low, medium, and high voltage (up to 500kV) systems.Lead system integration efforts, validating SCADA, BMS, and PLC systems to meet project design and operational requirements.Manage customer relationships, attend progress meetings, and ensure subcontractor compliance with project expectations.Maintain adherence to safety standards and employee/subcontractor safety.Manage and develop QA processes to ensure project quality control.Coordinate resources and schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical preferred) or 5+ years of experience in the field of system integration and controls management.Minimum 2-5 years of experience in project management related to BMS/BAS, HVAC, or critical facility operations.Field service experience with systems such as Rockwell Factory Talk, Tridium, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Ignition, and Eaton Networks.Knowledge of SCADA, BMS, PLC systems, and low voltage control systems.Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, control wiring diagrams, and electrical specifications.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.Proven experience managing large-scale controls projects, maintaining schedules, and tracking budgets.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Knowledge of electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams and industrial HVAC systems is a plus.Understanding of communication protocols like Modbus and Modbus-TCP is preferred.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently and carry up to 20 feet.Frequent standing, reaching, walking, and stooping in environments that may vary in temperature, noise, and air quality.Reasonable accommodation will be provided for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Why You'll Love Working With Us:MKD employees are our greatest assets, and we offer a wide range of benefits to ensure a well-balanced and healthy lifestyle, both at work and home.
