Job Summary

Directs and controls all Accounting and Reporting matters of Enterprise and all its subsidiaries. Has primary responsibility for all Accounting and Reporting requirements of all controlled corporate entities including preparation of monthly accounting entries, reconciliations and supporting documents, preparation and review of all tax related financial statement disclosures and footnotes, maintenance of reconciliations of all tax accounts, compliance with and maintenance of all related accounting internal controls and maintenance of tax accounting related databases. In addition, the Director – Tax Accounting and Reporting collaborates with the Director of Tax Research and Director Tax Compliance The Director – Tax Accounting and Reporting oversees two direct reports at the manager level and in total, approximately six employees.

This position also interfaces, on a regular basis, with senior finance leadership at each of the business units.

Job Responsibilities

• Provides overall leadership and development of staff.

• Responsible for all Tax Accounting and Reporting matters of Enterprise and all its subsidiaries. Directs the preparation and ensures the quality control of all Journal entries, financial statement disclosure, and controls.

• Ensures that the appropriate tax accounting documentation is properly maintained and organized including FIN48 reserves.

• Responsible for executing, documenting and revising when needed all tax related financial controls for Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 purposes.

• Interfaces with internal and external auditors.

• Supports regulatory efforts, including rate case filing, testimony, discovery and strategy

• Coordinate with Corporate Planning team for annual earnings and cash forecast and Long Term Plan

• Supports determination of appropriate FIN 48 reserves

• Works closely with Director - Tax Research to ensure tax planning strategies and changes to tax law are properly recorded and documented.

• Works closely with Director – Tax Compliance to ensure both compliance and accounting processes are coordinated and optimized.

• Regularly interfaces with and acts as an integral advisor to the VP and Assistant Controller – Tax.

• Present key issues to Senior Finance leaders, including Chief Accounting Officer, SVP – Finance, CFO, Treasurer and other key leaders

Job Specific Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Undergraduate Degree in Accounting

• Expert knowledge in tax accounting matters, preferably in the regulated utility industry

• Expert Knowledge of Federal and State Tax laws

• Expert Knowledge of ASC 740

Required Competencies:

• Minimum 10 years of professional tax experience in a large corporate environment or public accounting

• Proven organizational skills and attention to detail

• Able to compile complex data sets and prepare presentations for executive leadership

• Strong writing and presentation communication skills

• Proven leadership and team building skills

• Manage in a fast paced environment, successfully leading multiple projects

• Highest level of integrity

Desired Qualifications:

• CPA

• Master’s degree in taxation
