SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Plan production and manage production problems in an effort to minimize inventory, product in economical lot sizes, satisfy the customer and make the production process as efficient as possible.
REPORTS TO (Title)
: Director of Purchasing and Planning
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and release production orders so that production quantities and dates are optimized for production capacity and customer satisfaction.
Investigate production orders that are past due or short materials, and facilitate the coordination of efforts to alleviate the problems.
Communicate with operation supervisors, master scheduler, buyers, engineers, and other planners to meet material and production capacity requirements.
Expedite and follow orders that are urgently needed for customer orders or other production requirements.
Reschedule production orders using MRP when production problems arise and current due dates cannot be met.
Handle specific projects, such as lot size review, BOM structure review or new product planning as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:
Effective communication skills
Strong computer skills are necessary to perform the job
Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1+ year in an office setting preferred
Experience in manufacturing is preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Perform general office functions.
Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
General manufacturing, warehouse and office environment.
