Duties: Responsible for assisting the Director, Deputy Director and Teacher D with coordinating and monitoring program activities for the Division of Inmate Training & Education post-secondary educational programs at MCI Shirley. Coordinates meetings and administrative activities as assigned. Responsible for coordinating and monitoring incarcerated individuals’ participation in college programs. Responsible for purchase requisitions and maintaining inventory. Maintains liaison with various department staff as well as local, and state agencies to exchange information or to resolve issues. Prepares correspondence, and reports in final formats as well as providing assistance to ensure established rules, regulations, policies, and procedures are followed in carrying out assigned tasks. Attends meetings as needed and maintains all necessary records as required. Reviews programs to ensure compliance and provides support services to the staff of the Division of Inmate Training & Education. Must be able to write clearly and concisely to express information in a logical sequence. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other general office equipment. Review and analyze data related to agency programs in order to determine program effectiveness, make recommendations for changes in procedures, and devise methods of accomplishing division objectives. Incumbent will also be tasked to ensure all policies, procedures, and necessary materials are submitted within allotted time frames. Performs other duties as required. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class 3 Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to plan and organize. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize, resolve scheduling conflicts, take initiative, and utilize resources effectively. Comments: This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.* II.
