Define and develop thermal hardware architecture for electronic, server, and storage products. Provide thermal solutions and responses to support request for quotations. Design thermal solutions to meet product specifications. Conduct thermal simulation analysis to verify thermal feasibility and risks. Size thermal components such as thermal interface materials (TIMs), heat sinks, air movers, air filters, air ducting and perforated plates. Conduct thermal design verification from components to system level and support thermal testing efforts. Document thermal test plans and perform thermal air flow impedance and acoustic measurements. Identify root causes of system failures. Participate in project planning, scheduling, vendor selection, management, and procurement strategies. Collaborate with stakeholders on product initiatives. Keep current on leading edge cooling technology.

Telecommuting permitted up to 20%.

Full time employment, Monday

Friday, 40 hours per week, $124,800.26 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience.

Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:

Thermal test equipment, including thermocouples, data acquisition systems, and airflow chamber;TIM vendors, including Laird, Shin-Etsu, Henkel, and Fujipoly; andThermal testing using thermocouples for temperature measurements and wind tunnels for hydrostatic performance of air movers and electronic equipment.

Must have 1 year of experience in each of the following:

Thermal CFD analysis tools, including Flotherm and Icepak for air and liquid cooling; andMechanical solid design CAD tools, including CREO and performing tolerance analysis.

Telecommuting permitted up to 20%.

Domestic travel required up to 10%.
