Construction Project Engineer

Job Description
The Construction Project Engineer (CPE) will be responsible for the effective administration of engineering services including design and design changes throughout construction and will interact closely with the Client and the Client’s Construction Manager (CM). CPE will have daily contact with the Client’s Construction Manager and will have oversight responsibility for quality assurance of the construction.
What will a day in this role look like:
Additional responsibilities include:
Participate in weekly Construction progress meetings.
Provide Construction Liaison and Administrative services.
Coordinate the review and approval of the Contractor’s Shop Drawing submittals by the Design Team.
Respond to Contractor’s RFIs (Request for Information, Clarifications and Interpretations) based on the Contract documents.
Assist in resolution of unanticipated field conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate the review of Contractor initiated substitutions.
Coordinate the activities of the contracts with outside agencies and utilities.
Manage the preparation of change requests to address field conditions and stakeholder requests.
Coordinate the review of Design Related Contractor Change Order requests.
Coordinate Start-Up activities.
Ensure staff maintains high ethical standards.
