Canacre works on large-scale wind and solar power projects, high-voltage transmission lines, pipeline projects, municipal roads projects, and groupings of cellular towers and rooftop antennas.

The Senior Public Consultation/Outreach Specialist will primarily be responsible for developing and leading public consultation programs on small to large-scale projects. The Senior Public Consultation/Outreach Specialist will be involved in all phases of Project work from approvals and pre-construction through to construction or decommissioning and/or abandonment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as a technical lead for stakeholder consultation to project teams.Cultivate a work environment committed to the health, safety, and wellness of employees.Establish a highly efficient and positive culture where employees are empowered and accountable for areas of responsibility.Provide leadership in the development and implementation of engagement strategies.Design and lead project-specific public consultation programs and plans in the region tailored to projects and the communities they are located in.Provide specialized advice to project teams on the regulatory requirements with respect to public consultation and design of public consultation programs to meet those requirements.Planning (including preparation of materials) and facilitation of community meetings, open houses, workshops and focus groups and public consultation events.Relationship building with key stakeholders.Provide supervision to project staff delivering on engagement efforts.Act as a resource to project teams facilitating the inclusion of the results of public consultation into project design or planning.Maintain records of communication.Perform other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:Education
Post-secondary degree in Communications, Social Science, or related field of studyExperience
Minimum 8 years professional experience in public consultation, or related roleExperience developing and implementing public engagement programsExperience leading public engagement teamsProfessional experience working on projects regulated under NEPA or state-equivalent is an assetKnowledge/Skills
Strong working knowledge of public engagement requirements and best practicesProven experience in managing relationshipsExperience related to energy projects including transmission lines, solar farms and wind farms would be an assetStrong verbal and written communication skills -client communications, etc.Excellent interpersonal and communications skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving skills, prioritizing and decision-making skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously with minimal supervisionDetail-oriented, self-motivated and highly organized with strong problem-solving skillsAbility to build strong, lasting relationships with key stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsWorking knowledge of Microsoft OfficeLicenses/Accreditations
Valid Driver's License, with ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
