WelderJob DescriptionThe role involves light travel and all work is local to York and Lancaster. MIG and Stick welding in the field.Steel erection.Miscellaneous metals.ResponsibilitiesSet anchor bolts, wedge anchors, and apply epoxy for base plates and sole plates.Weld miscellaneous metals such as stairs, railings, ladders, loose lintels, and hundreds of odds and ends made out of steel.Work with materials including carbon steel and processed pipes.Assist manager/foreman/superintendent as directed.Perform layout using drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.Read measuring tools (tape, scale, angle finder, protractor, and square) to 1/16" and or 1 mm as drawings require.Understand and apply 'square' tolerances as described on drawings.Operate welding machines and perform mig/stick/tig welding.Interpret written directions/specifications.Operate various equipment such as forklift, telehandler, manlift, overhead crane, metal saw, press brake, and iron worker.Apply basic rigging principles and techniques.Willingness to work out-of-town for up to 2 weeks at a time, as required.Comfortable working off hours as required to complete a project.Essential SkillsMinimum 2 years of experience as a Millwright/Welder.Proficient in welding (mig, tig, stick).Ability to read and interpret blueprints.Competence in operating industrial equipment (forklift, telehandler, manlift, overhead crane, metal saw, press brake, iron worker).Basic rigging knowledge.OSHA 10 certification.AWS D1.1 certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with pneumatics.Experience in fabrication and installation of structural steel.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Why Work Here?We provide full-time benefits for all employees, including a retirement package, and ensure no layoffs during the winter season.
