This position is responsible for technical support for all university technologies, including but not limited to desktop and laptop support, assistance with university supported software, online learning, email, calendar, portal and wired & wireless connectivity. The Technical Support Services Specialist also assists with hardware and software installations, warranty process, and on-going training. Supervisory responsibilities include directing the activities of student interns and hourly workers. This position includes rotating morning and evening schedules as well as possible evening and weekend duties.Essential FunctionsThis position requires regular, predictable, reliable attendance in the office environment.1. Provide Level 1 and 2 help desk assistance. 2. Perform warranty repair. 3. Perform the installation, upgrading and maintenance of computers, tablets, phones, printers and peripheral equipment. 4. Maintain help desk tickets, coordinate problem resolution, client relations and follow-up. 5. Plan, develop, and maintain training materials. Assist with technician training and conduct training sessions as necessary. 6. Plan, develop and maintain Self Service Portal solutions. 7. Perform other duties as assigned by Technology Support Services Manager or other Senior Level IT staff and assist with maintaining an efficient and effective Information Technology operation. 8. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time 12-month position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel may be expected. A valid US Driver's license with a safe driving record is required.Required Education and Experience1. High school diploma.2. 4+ years IT experience in desktop support.3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.4. MCSA or equivalent preferred.5. CompTIA Security Plus Certification required within 90 days of employmentPreferred Education and Experience1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.2.
