The Role

Green Thumb is seeking a talented Sales Director to oversee our established New York cannabis wholesale program. As a Sales Director, you will be responsible to ensure we meet and exceed our distribution targets and revenue growth targets. As a manager of a team, you will be a player/coach responsible for maximizing our sales team potential, influencing and educating our customers, developing sales strategies, maintaining budget/sales forecasts, developing a promotional strategy and manage the overall execution of the sales plan. You thrive in a growth, gritty environment and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive in. This role is best suited for an extroverted go-getter who doesn't mind phone calls, driving and ample facetime. You will be in dispensaries often interacting with a variety of clientele. The territory for this position is the state of New York. Travel expected up to 50% within the state.ResponsibilitiesLead and coach a team of account executives to meet and exceed Green Thumb's wholesale objectivesOversee all functions of the sales lifecycle including sales forecasting, direct relationship management and development, negotiation of buying agreements and lead conversion, deal evaluations and approvalsDevelop annual and quarterly revenue plans, prepare monthly sales reports by product and channel to evaluate brand and product performance and develop annual and quarterly sales plans.Ensure stores have proper inventory levels through sales tools, smart communication and in-store visitsUnderstand and provide insights on sales drivers and recommend new opportunities to drive incremental growthAttend cannabis industry trade shows, conferences, conventions, and other professional events in an effort to stay current on industry trends as well as to interact with potential and existing customers.Partner with Finance and Operations on the following activities: forecasting activities, developing revenue targets, budgeting and developing sales operations processes and compensation plans.Monitor the market to observe emerging trends and competition.Work with Branding and Marketing teams to develop advertising strategy and promotional activities.Qualifications7+ years of outside sales preferably in consumer packaged goods (food & beverage, preferred)2+ years of people managementKnowledge of cannabis industry, regulations, market trends and competition highly preferredDemonstrated experience of exceeding sales quotasProven ability to build and execute a sales strategy to generate and develop new businessExperience of P&L and budget managementWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office toolsExperience working in sales management systems (i.e. Salesforce)Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulnessAdapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environmentPossesses a high level of critical thinkingOperates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential informationBachelor's Degree preferredMust understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green ThumbMust have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws.Additional RequirementsMust pass any and all required background checksMust be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industryMust possess valid driver's licenseMust be a minimum of 21 years of ageMust be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry

The pay range is competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and/or location of the role. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.

Green Thumb Pay Range

$110,000-$140,000 USD
