Shores Animal Hospital is seeking an energetic professional to be a part of our fast-paced team. We are a small animal practice with a beautiful, 7000+ square foot, state of the art hospital. We strive to offer the gold standard of care to every client and patient that we see. Our hospital has a fully-equipped surgical suite, digital radiology suite, digital dental radiology, cold laser therapy, an ultrasound suite, and a complete in-house diagnostic laboratory. By offering private suites for many of our services our patients can relax, not be distracted by others around them and have a less stressful visit.
Our hospital is located just outside the heart of Gainesville, home to the University of Florida. While we are close to the University, we are nestled in an area surrounded by family communities. We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients! You will work alongside other skilled Vet Assistants, support our Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in the daily flow of the hospital. Position Skills:
Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic testsRestrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring mannerObtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and/or note any changes of patient's condition to DVMCollect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologiesCare and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operationsHigh quality client communication on patient updates and questionsPosition Requirements:
