Typical Duties:
Develop and refine emergency preparedness exercise objectives, scenarios, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders;Schedule and conduct planning meetings with internal and external stakeholders to discuss emergency preparedness exercise details and roles;Communicate regularly with emergency preparedness exercise participants to provide updates and ensure alignment with exercise objectives;Develop and deliver training sessions to prepare participants for their roles in the emergency preparedness exercise;Coordinate the logistics for emergency preparedness exercises, including securing venues, arranging for necessary equipment, and managing participant registration;Oversee the execution of emergency preparedness exercises, ensuring they run smoothly and according to plan;Act as the main point of contact during emergency preparedness exercises, addressing any issues or questions that arise;Facilitate post-emergency preparedness exercise debriefing sessions to gather feedback from participants and evaluators;Write after-action reports (AAR) and improvement plans (IP) based on emergency preparedness exercise outcomes and participant feedback;Maintain accurate records of all emergency preparedness exercises, including planning documents, evaluation results, and follow-up actions;Identify areas for improvement in existing emergency preparedness exercise programs and recommend changes to enhance future exercises;Participate in relevant committees, workgroups, and professional networks to stay connected with the broader emergency preparedness community;Ensure emergency preparedness exercises meet the requirements of any relevant grants and funding agreements;Integrate into public health emergency response teams, including occasionally carrying the health district's on-call phone;Assist in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans and protocols.Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
Measurement processes and methods for assessing progress toward achieving goals and objectives of projects or plans;Knowledge of planning principles and practices for program and project planning.Experience:
Utilizing automated systems to develop spread sheets and graphics;Writing technical reports;Preparing and making presentations to groups.Preferred Qualifications
(these are not required, however, having these qualifications may increase your overall ranking):
Relevant certifications such as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM), Certified in Public Health (CPH), or similar;Incident Command System (ICS) and National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800).
