About The Role:

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of complex data sources and pipelines into our data platform (i.e. Oracle) along with other data applications (e.g., GitHub, etc.), automation and innovation. You will work in collaboration with business analysts and SMEs to ensure that complex process and calculations are implemented and maintained across several clients.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

All phases of software engineering including requirements analysis, application design, code development, and testingDesign and implement product features in collaboration with business and IT stakeholdersDesign reusable stored procedures, routines, and functions to perform complex transformations componentsLead technology decisions, drive product implementation and deliveryTroubleshoot production support issues post-deployment and determine solutions as requiredDemonstrate substantial depth of knowledge and experience in Oracle PL/SQL, Unix , ETL toolsManage code in Git/GitHubUnderstand data requirements and design optimal pipelines to fulfill use-casesUnderstand logical & physical data models to ensure data integrity is maintainedTune and optimize data processesOversee code deployments to production environment, troubleshoot production data issuesModel large datasets to maximize performance for our Business Intelligence TeamSolid organizational skills and focus on accuracy and attention to detailExcellent analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting abilitiesSelf-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environmentProvide accurate and timely estimates for tasksProvide support and leadership in critical production support issue resolutionConduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action planWork with team to achieve timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding Service Level AgreementsConduct code reviews to ensure the work delivered by the team is of high-quality standardsDevelop innovative approachesYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of data engineering work experience in development, design, test and implementation of complex database programs using Oracle and third-party tools within a distributed, service-based enterprise environment5+ years of experience writing complex queries in Oracle PL/SQLProficiency in database design, querying, optimization & troubleshooting with any of the following RDBMS:Oracle, SQL Server, and/or -TeradataDemonstrated expertise in a variety of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, practices, and proceduresSolid experience with oracle functions, procedures, triggers, packages & performance tuningAnalytical and problem-solving experience applied to large datasetsExperience with data warehousing principles, architecture and its implementation in large environmentsProven knowledge of different data modelling techniques such as Star Schema, Dimensional models, Data vaultExperience in code lifecycle management and repositories such as GIT & GitHubPreferred Qualifications:

Experience working with AirflowPractical experience of developing solutions hosting within key major cloud providers such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, AWS, Google Cloud and AzureExperience working with SnowflakeExperience developing optimized data models for Viz tool E.g. Tableau, and PowerBIExposure and experience in other programming language such as Python, Spark, etc.Understanding of United States Healthcare data and applicable regulationsExperience writing and executing functional specificationsExperience working with and analyzing healthcare administrative, medical, or pharmacy claims data to support downstream applications, data marts, and end usersAnalytical approach to problem solvingExcellent time management, communication, decision making, and presentation skillsAbility to display a solid desire to achieve and attain high levels of both internal and external customer satisfactionSolid experience of operating in a quickly changing environment and driving technological innovation to meet business requirementProven track record of building relationships across cross-functional teamsDemonstrated initiative-taker. The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
