What You'll Be Doing
The Fleet and Facilities Asset Manager is responsible for managing Rinchem's over-the-road heavy-duty trucking assets and materials handling/warehouse facility assets. This role requires the implementation of effective life cycle management methodologies to optimize asset utilization, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure cost competitiveness. Scope and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:Fleet Management:
Oversee the management and optimization of heavy-duty trucking assets to ensure maximum efficiency and performance.Develop and implement life cycle management methodologies to optimize the fleet's total cost of ownership (TCO) and cost per mile.Analyze fleet utilization and performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.Design and manage preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset lifespan.Implement a tire management program, including tracking tire wear and replacement schedules, to enhance safety and efficiency.Monitor compliance with regulatory standards and ensure the fleet meets all safety and environmental requirements.
Facilities Management:
Ensure all Rinchem facilities meet showcase standards, safety, and quality standards and are always in good repair.Maintain and assess warehousing and transportation asset utilization, making recommendations for changes where applicable.Negotiate best pricing, product, and delivery options for all leasing and purchase requests related to facilities assets.Develop an annual capital budget and assist in the preparation and approval process of property operating budgets, including planning for infrastructure upgrades and equipment replacements.Create a central filing system to manage product specifications, pricing, terms, and delivery timelines accessible to all necessary stakeholders.Develop leasing and purchase programs to control demand and support anticipated company growth.Oversee relationships with local third-party property managers and leasing agents, ensuring effective management of facilities.
Strategic Planning and Analysis:
Establish and maintain a comprehensive asset replacement plan, ensuring timely identification and replacement of aging assets.Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to management.Work closely with finance to develop budgeting and forecasting models related to fleet and facilities asset management.Own and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality service delivery and optimal pricing.Identify and leverage opportunities for collaboration with suppliers to implement innovative solutions that enhance fleet efficiency and performance.
Cost Management:
Ensure that asset management practices contribute to the overall financial health of the organization by maintaining cost competitiveness.Analyze and report on total cost of ownership for all fleet and facility assets, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and service agreements that support cost-effective operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Demonstrate capacity for collaboration and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.Engage with external partners, such as service providers and consultants, to enhance fleet and facility performance.
Provide Leasing and Purchasing Information:
Collaborate with operations teams to understand asset requirements during the RFP response process.Ensure that leasing or purchasing information of assets is accurately incorporated into the proforma, aligning with operational needs and specifications.Conduct lease versus buy cost analysis to determine the most cost-effective options for asset acquisition and management.
Communication Skills:
Proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules and operational documents, with the ability to write clear reports and correspondences.Strong verbal communication skills, enabling effective and persuasive presentations to diverse groups, including senior management and vendors.Exceptional relationship-building abilities across all employee levels, demonstrating diplomacy, tact, and a positive professional demeanor.
Leadership and Training:
