Job Title: Director, Retail Pricing Analytics

General Function: The Director of Retail Pricing Analytics is responsible for the development and implementation of pricing strategies that successfully optimize sales and profitability across the geographic and competitive landscape of the company. Creates and enhances the structure for maintaining competitive advantage while achieving company targets and increasing market penetration on key items and product lines. Increases business acumen through simplifying and streamlining pricing decisions while promoting ownership and maintaining company culture and autonomy. Trains & effectively communicates all aspects of pricing methodology.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Create, define and implement the overall pricing strategy for the company in collaboration with Executive leadership
Develop key pricing initiatives aligned with company growth and profitability goals
Review and analyze key metrics, including optimization of sales, turns, units and profitability
Lead external competitive pricing and offering analysis
Perform analysis on business categories to find solutions and drive improvement in low-performing areas
Collaborate closely with senior leadership, and department owners to develop new pricing strategies and initiatives
Develop key performance indicators and related metrics to drive the execution of the overall pricing strategy
Analyze and establish opportunities for improving results across regions and categories
Review market and customer data to develop competitive insights
Oversee all aspects (strategy, processes, systems, reporting and people) surrounding company pricing and analytics, and related reporting and metrics
Supervise pricing team and analysts and ensure adherence to company goals and initiatives
Provide executive leadership with timely reviews of the company’s pricing strategy, including progress and results of various objectives and activities
Research current market and industry conditions and develop regional and company improvement strategies
Develops the processes to streamline pricing and enhance results
Collaborate with operations, finance and marketing to deliver financial outcomes and operational objectives
Establish guidelines and set parameters for successful advancement and completion of company objectives
Plans and implements ongoing training and continuing Pricing education
Education and Experience:
5+ years of experience in pricing management
Demonstrated high level of financial literacy & experience in P&L management
Ability to think critically, implement effective solutions and lead a team
Experience managing pricing processes with cross-functional partners
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
Must be comfortable presenting to internal and external business partners
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of pricing methodologies
Proven ability to make improvements to sales and profitability through category management and pricing
Adept at planning, organizing and analyzing financial information
Capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Proficient in problem solving and innovation
Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed company expectations for results
High attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions: The duties for this position are performed in a general office setting. There is weekly pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a day.
