ResponsibilitiesWork Schedule:
Monday - Friday, between the hours of 7:30am and 4:30pm
No Call, No Weekends, No Holidays!!
Job Specific Position Duties:
• Administer audiology tests to all types of patients including pediatric patients.• Conduct routine tests, to include air conduction, bone conduction, speech reception thresholds and speech discrimination, including high intensity speech discrimination testing, acoustic reflexes testing, and tympanometry.• Conduct auditory brainstem response (ABR) testing in clinic and OR settings.• Conduct candidacy evaluation, counselling, and programing for implantable devices including bone anchored hearing aids (BAHA) and cochlear implants (CI).• Comprehensive vestibular assessment including videonystagmograpy, caloric, electrocochleography.• Provide hearing amplification services (ie hearing aid fittings/repairs) for all types of patients.• Identify, assess, and manages auditory, balance, and other neural systems. Provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures of the hearing and balance mechanisms including intraoperative monitoring of the cranial nerves, routine cerumen removal, posturography, and other advanced balance mechanism evaluations.• Review accompanying consultation forms and records, independently determine appropriate tests, adapt test techniques, and utilize clinical judgment based on audiological and psychological precepts.
• Counsel beneficiaries as required regarding problem(s), interpret results, and provide guidance and advice on educational and training needs. Provide narrative summary of each patient to referring physician and other interested agencies.• Consult and collaborate with other health care professionals to develop appropriate and comprehensive health care plans for patients who have hearing/balance disorders. Generates consults for referral to other services.• Maintain clinical documentation to include reports of diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic procedures utilized.• Participate in monthly Prostaff meetings and bi-annual peer reviews.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
* Degree/Education:
Master's degree in Audiology. Graduate from an educational program accredited by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association’s (ASHA) Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech Pathology (CAA) or the Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE) * Experience:
As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the Service- specific credentialing instructions. Clinical experience working with implantable hearing devices (i.e. Bone-Anchored Hearing Aids, Cochlear Implants), Auditory Brainstem Response testing, hearing aid fittings, videonystagmograpy.
* Licensure/Certification:
A current, unrestricted license to practice Audiology in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. National certification (Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) or American Board of Audiology (ABA) certification.
* Life Support Certification:
BLS from American Red Cross or American Health Association. * Security:
Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
