Thompson Engineering is currently seeking a Data Analyst for the Mobile, AL location.

Position Summary

Create process documentation/workflows, knowledge articles and self-service guidance for project, fleet, and technical data. Gather, analyze, and interpret data to help solve problems and answer questions. Collect and document data for project and process improvement/automation efforts. Review information and trends to ensure that the output of processes is achieving the desired results and that services are meeting agreed-upon service levels. Participate in the problem resolution. Use statistical tools to analyze data and identify patterns and trends. Create charts, graphs, and dashboards to help people understand the data.

Essential Functions

Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring performance.Facilitate process workflow modeling to collaborate on process improvements, automation capabilities and clearly defined end-to-end use casesIdentify issues and risks. Bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management.Prepare incident details for investigation/incident reviews.Track major incident management process and ensure adherence of the process and escalation requirements within the various support and delivery areas.Extract reports and provide an analysis of data for review.

Minimum Requirements

College diploma or university bachelor's degree in the field of computer science and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Outstanding communication and presentation skills.Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows andMicrosoft Office products, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.Strong technical proficiency, analytical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and guides.Effective use of Microsoft Power BI and other analytical tools.Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.Strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.Self-motivated and directed.Analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressureenvironment.Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Strong customer-service orientation.

Ability to understand procedural manuals and execute work ordersAttention to detail and ability to follow directionsValid driver's license and insurable driving recordMust pass Health and Safety Training and Defensive Driving Courses upon hireMay be required to use number of different pieces of equipment such as Slump Cone, Air Meter, Measuring Wheel / Tape, Thermometer, etc. Candidate will be fully trained in the use of equipment necessary to accomplish their workOvertime may be requiredTravel may be required

Physical Demands

Sitting for extended periods of timeDexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer component.Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals of up to 25 lbs.Must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed for the department.
