Here is a more detailed description about what this person would be doing and the skills they would need:

Upgrades / Migrations:

1) Help upgrading our apps from Gradle 4 to Gradle 5

2) Help upgrading our apps from Spring Boot 1.5 to Sprint Boot 2

3) Help upgrading our apps from JDK 8 to JDK 11

4) Help migrate from Docker Swarm to Kubernetes

5) Help upgrade Kafka to latest version

Infrastructure:

1) Refresh Azure VMs / Nodes

2) Monitor our infrastructure, ensure containers are healthy and working properly

3) Monitor our network, ensure all VM are connected, work with BNSF networking team if we need to make any network changes

4) Ability to support our system - knowledge of kafka, cassandra, azure, spring boot, docker, jenkins, prometheus, grafana, elastic search, kibana, groovy/gradle, kubernetes

5) Knowledge in these technologies would be a bonus, but could be learned on the job: reactJS, cucumber functional testing
