Job Overview

At TE Connectivity, you'll help bring our purpose to life by creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. As an Intern in the Automotive Business Unit, you will:

Work within a product development engineering team focused on designing electrical connectors for the automotive industry.

Utilize various solid modeling and finite element analysis software packages to develop product concepts.

Work with product documentation such as solid models, drawings, product and application specifications, tolerance analysis and test plans & reports.

Gain experience with failure prevention and analysis tools.

Support validation testing to prove new designs.

Develop communication skills while working with cross-functional product launch teams.

Responsibilities

Integrate and network with the launch product engineering team.

Support and drive closure of engineering tasks which will require skills learned throughout the summer.

Provide project status updates by documenting results, deriving conclusions and communicating effectively.

Gain understanding of general connector technology for automotive industry.

Further expand knowledge of engineering tools related to design and analysis.

Integrate innovation in product design and participate in development process continuous improvement.

Contribute to team activities.

You're the kind of person we are looking for if you:

Have a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0

Are currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical or other related engineering major

Are currently enrolled in an accredited University or College for the duration of the Internship

Are authorized to work in the U.S.

What TE Connectivity Internship Program offersTE has a robust internship program that provides our interns with an abundance of resources to feel included as part of our Team. Every summer we coordinate various educational and networking events for our interns. The TE University Relations team will be hosting virtual meetups, information sessions, tours, skill building presentations, and topping it off with National Intern Day celebration activities.

Our internship program typically runs May thru August and gives students the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the success of their team and build on their classroom experience. TimelineTE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
