Expense analysts on the Planning & Analysis (P&A) Expense Planning Team provide in-depth analysis and insight into organizational expense trends for multiple levels of leadership to enable informed decision making. Expense analysts serve as a liaison to business offices within their assigned area of responsibility to understand and diagnose drivers of expense change, while providing an independent and objective perspective. They serve as primary thought partners to the business offices regarding expense planning and results, providing guidance and support on an ongoing basis with monthly reporting and expense analysis. During the annual expense planning process, expense analysts also serve as a key liaison for budget tool, process, and methodology updates.Expense analysts also collaborate with the P&A Incentive Team to provide detailed analysis and insight into the drivers of individual department expense trends. Commentary is prepared for sharing context with executive leadership.Expense Analysts may also participate in the ongoing analysis and review of the Enterprise Expense Roadmap, including preparing Board materials and reconciliation and collaboration with Financial & Regulatory Reporting forecasting processes.Potential Job Responsibilities:Collaborate across P&A and Financial Operations on monthly expense reporting and analysis of actual and forecasted expense trends.Develop ad hoc and routine analysis to enable informed decision-making, including analysis of results, proactive identification of trends, and impact analysis of changes effecting expense trends.Serve as a strategic thought partner for leadership and business areas and offer insights on expense results, Expense Roadmap trends, and incentive measures and targets.Prepare accurate and relevant written summaries in a timely manner, communicating complex subject matter to the intended audience in a simplified manner that meaningfully informs decision making.Represent the P&A Expense team on projects and initiatives that impact expense trends.Competencies:CommunicationRelationship BuildingTeamworkStrategic Business FocusInitiativeResourcefulnessCritical ThinkingQualifications
